LifeNet South Carolina

May 1st, 2007 marked the merger of 2 air medical helicopter transport services, Life Reach and CareForce. Life Reach began service in 1985 as the state's first air medical transport service through the Sisters of Charity Ministry serving primarily central South Carolina based at Providence Heart Institute in Columbia, SC. CareForce began service in 1998 serving central South Carolina through Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital based at Palmetto Richland. The goal of this new program is to get definitive care to the patient faster by being based in the surrounding communities rather than the traditional hospital based system.

LifeNet South Carolina receives input from 2 advisory boards. The program advisory board is made up of representatives from Air Methods, MedServ, Sisters of Charity Ministry, Providence Heart Institute and Palmetto Health Richland. The medical advisory board is made up of representatives from Palmetto Health Richland and Providence Heart Institute.

The mission of SC LifeNet is to provide safe, quality air medical service and patient care to the critically ill and injured. The SC LifeNet team is composed of dedicated professionals who are committed to a consistent state of readiness through ongoing education, training and quality improvement.

The SC LifeNet Vision is to be the safest air medical provider while delivering quality care to our patients. We will consistently be available to our referring agencies, developing personal relationships while earning their trust.
